My wife and I migrated to Queensland early in 2007 after selling our business in the UK. We first met Clive Herrald of Global Pension Transfers (GPT) at the Emigrate show at Sandown Park in March 2006 before we got our visas but we were at that stage gathering information and asking questions about our planned move to Australia.
We were immediately impressed by Clive and his team with the simplicity and openness in answering all of our questions. We were able to not only discuss the financial issues associated with the move but we were also able to gather a whole lot of relevant information surrounding the move.
We confidently engaged GPT to advise us on our UK assets and pensions and have been extremely happy with the advice provided to date. Within days of our arrival in Queensland Clive called on us to import his local knowledge to us to help with settling in.
We initially transferred some of our UK pension funds before June 30 2007, when new transfer rules were scheduled to apply in Australia. Our remaining pension funds were transferred a month or so later just before we saw a steady decline in exchange rates which in hindsight was a godsend. What has also proved a godsend is the fact that our funds were moved in mid 2007 before the equity markets began to fall on the back of the US Credit Crisis and whilst the exchange rate was very good. Whilst these changes have occurred our assets have been fully protected, something we both are extremely thankful for.
Our experiences with all dealings with GPT have been exceptional and we have no hesitation in recommending Clive and his team at GPT to any prospective British resident moving across to Australia.
