Peter – Testimonial

I first had discussions with Clive Herrald of Global Pension Transfers (GPT) in 2003 when I was considering the option of returning to Australia to live after an extensive career in Business Management and Motor Sport that spanned over 30years. I was born in Australia and held an Australian Passport but my wife is British and wished to retain her connection with the UK. Our daughter moved permanently to Brisbane a few years prior which added to the incentive for us to do likewise.

Over the next few years we maintained regular contact with Clive and GPT and it was always easy to ask questions and to receive comprehensive answers without any fuss from them. As my pension funds were substantial I needed to feel comfortable with GPT with each step I took. When the new UK rules were being introduced from April 2006 I made the decision to transfer my funds across to Australia based upon the advice I received from both GPT and my London based accountants. Paperwork was signed and submitted to my UK SIPP providers to transfer my funds. When the Australian Government announced some major changes to Australian Superannuation rules in May of that year I was caught between two different regimes and my plans needed to be structured to satisfy the new Australian rules. Throughout that process and since then GPT have had to go to extraordinary lengths to complete all transactions and even had to seek private tax rulings from the Australian Tax Office to protect my interests. My funds are now fully protected in a number of different structures in Australia where I have complete access to my funds on a tax free basis, we’ve also benefited from Clive’s currency management in protecting our capital.

I can only speak in glowing terms of the way Clive and his team at GPT have worked with me to meet my needs and to maintain compliance with the Australian tax and superannuation rules that changed dramatically.

I have no hesitation in recommending the services of GPT to anyone considering migrating to Australia or who are already living in Australia but who have never transferred their pension funds.
